New York Is Always A Good Idea.

I had the pleasure of spending some time before Christmas in New York! Although I didn't see any snow, seeing this city during the holiday season at least once in your life is a must! New York is absolute MADNESS during the holiday season and leading up to Christmas. I've never seen a busier city, EVER! This was my first visit to New York, and it's safe to say I have fell in love with the fast paced city. Although at first, it can be a bit startling, but you get used to it quickly. It's such an intense place, where every day always has something new, waiting to be explored. Sadly, we left New York one day before snow fell (would you believe my luck!), but of course, it was still another unforgettable adventure. So, here is a massive post of my recommendations in New York City!

FLY
Qantas
I flew from Sydney to New York on Qantas via LA. I was very lucky and got upgraded to first class on the first leg, and was in heaven! Although my inflight experiences with Qantas have always been phenomenal. This trip staff went above and beyond to take care of me and the other passengers.

DO
The Rockefeller Centre / Top Of The Rock
No trip to New York is complete without a visit to Top Of The Rock! If you haven't been, you need to go for the iconic view of New York City! Make sure you visit on a clear day with sunny skies to make it worthwhile! During peak time, I recommend going early in the morning, as you need to go to the Rockefeller Centre to buy tickets and secure a time slot. Spots fill up quickly during the busiest times of year. Top tip: You can also book online and skip the queue!

The Guggenheim Museum
If you like history, culture or art, you have to make a trip to the Guggenheim Museum. The building itself has it's own charm! There's so much to see, in a huge range of topics. Highly recommended on a rainy day in the city!

Central Park / Ice Skating in Central Park
Central Park is absolutely huge and full with iconic spots from all your favourite movies. And although we didn't get to see all of it, the walk around the park was stunning and something you have to do once. Ice Skating in Central Park is also a must in Winter! However, go early because lines can be hours long during peak time. As much as we wanted to go Ice Skating under the Rockefeller Tree, the rink is much larger in Central park, therefor it is a lot less crowded. Also, the Rockefeller rink is basically impossible to get into during the Christmas season! Top tip: If the Central Park ice rink is too busy check out the Bryant Park ice rink - just as cute and a lot less crowded.

Brooklyn Bridge
A walk across the Brooklyn Bridge - necessary. We caught the train all the way to Dumbo, Brooklyn and then walked back across the Brooklyn Bridge and it was incredible. We were very lucky that there were bright blue skies on that day too which made it a lot more enjoyable. Top Tip: Go during sunrise if you don't like crowds, because it was very busy during the day.

Dumbo, Brooklyn
Visiting Dumbo, was one of the highlights of my trip. It had a very cool, creative atmosphere about it and every time we turned a corner there would be a beautiful view of Manhattan, or an amazing piece of artwork. If you into taking creative and aesthetically pleasing photos, visiting Dumbo is a must.

STAY
Renwick Hotel
The Renwick Hotel is located right next to Grand Central Station, on Park Avenue and 40th. It's the perfect location for Bryant Park, Times Square, Fifth Avenue and Central Park (these are all walking distance). The subway is located just across the street making it so easy to get around, and a great base for exploring the city.

I hope you enjoyed this one! What are your favourite things to do in New York? I'd love to know!
